Bridal Alterations

An itemized pricing estimate is calculated and a deposit of one-half of the total alterations fee is required at the 1st fitting appointment. The balance of all fees is due when the gown is picked up. Credit cards are accepted. Pricing is determined by the difficulty of the alterations and the time required to complete the gown to each bride's specifications and needs.

Hem Length - The most common alteration to a wedding gown or bridesmaid gown is the hem. During your fitting (while wearing your chosen wedding shoes) the hem is pinned at the appropriate length. Hems are adjusted either at the waist or the floor depending on the construction, design, and length of the adjustment. Depending on the number of layers, complexity, and beading on the hem of your gown, 2 or more fitting appointments may be necessary.

Re-Styling - Simple adjustments can create a new look to your gown. Adding a belt, lowering the back opening on the bodice, removing tuile layers to reduce volume from the skirt, adding a modesty piece to a plunging neckline can help you create your gown to be uniquely yours. Major restructuring of the gown by adding custom sleeves or changing the neckline opening is not my specialty and is best created by a custom dressmaker. Referrals are offered upon request for these additional services.

Bustles - Adding Bustles to a gown creates attachment points to gather the train of your gown to hang from the skirt, while you enjoy your reception, dancing, and post-ceremony events. Traditional Bustles attach the train on the outside of your gown making a beautiful layered look, while French Bustles attach to the inside or underneath the gown leaving the waist and hemline uninterrupted. It’s fun to see your gown transform from the ceremony to the reception.

Fitting / Pricing - The entire fitting process helps you decide which alterations are needed, which ones may be optional and how they will look. It's fun to see how your gown transforms once it is pinned! An itemized pricing estimate is calculated at your first fitting or consultation

Bodice / Strapless / Corset - A proper fitting bodice should leave you feeling secure and beautiful. A well-fitted bodice can be achieved by using or adding bra cups, corseting, boning, and making alteration adjustments at the waist and hips. Straps can be added as well and darts that will help prevent gaps and puckering at your bust line.
